DONCASTER ST LEGER 1814

The 39th winner of the St Leger, held on Monday 26th September 1814 over the St Leger course on Town Moor, was William, a bay colt by Governor out of Elizabeth, owned by the 9th Duke of Hamilton. A field of 12 runners contested the race, although there were 53 subscriptions of 25 guineas each, which was worth 1325 Guineas. (Equivalent to £89,300 in 2017)
